Coreena’s Bio
Why do you love being a caregiver?
Honestly, being a caregiver has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. There’s something really special about being there for someone when they need it most—whether it’s offering comfort, helping with daily tasks, or just being someone to talk to. Over the years, I’ve built so many meaningful relationships with the people I’ve cared for. It’s more than just a job—it’s a way to give back, to make someone’s day a little easier, a little brighter. That’s what keeps me going, even on the tough days.
What experience do you have?
I’ve been a Certified Nurse Assistant for 20 years, and during that time I’ve worked in a variety of settings—nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and private in-home care. Each environment has taught me something different, from managing multiple patients in a fast-paced facility to providing one-on-one care in someone’s home. I’ve cared for individuals with everything from Alzheimer’s and dementia to post-surgical recovery and mobility issues. With two decades of hands-on experience, I’ve pretty much seen it all and learned how to handle just about any situation with compassion and professionalism.
What skills and training do you have?
I received my CNA certification back in [insert year] and have kept it current with regular continuing education and recertification. Beyond the basics like assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living), taking vitals, and infection control, I’ve developed strong communication skills, especially when it comes to working with families and other members of the care team. I’ve also had training in dementia care, end-of-life support, and proper body mechanics to ensure both my safety and the patient’s. One of my greatest strengths is staying calm under pressure—when things get challenging, I focus on what needs to be done and how I can support the person in my care.
