I absolutely love being a caregiver because it allows me to form deep connections with others and learn from their rich life experiences. Spending time with seniors, listening to their stories, and sharing in conversations about faith, love, and life gives me such fulfillment. I believe that caregiving is a gift from God, and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to offer love, kindness, and companionship in return. It’s such a privilege to learn from the older generations, and I truly believe that every moment spent with them is a valuable lesson.

Though I don’t have professional paid caregiving experience, I’ve been blessed to volunteer at a senior living facility in Brazil for eight years and take care of my grandparents. Since moving to the U.S., I’ve felt the longing to continue helping and sharing love here, just as I did with my family back home. With my background as a chef, I’m experienced in preparing healthy meals and ensuring that loved ones are nourished. I’m also skilled in light housekeeping, organizing, laundry, and assisting with errands like driving or managing medication. I love to share stories from my childhood on the farm, funny adventures in Canada’s cold, and even talk about recipes or learn a bit of chess or board games!

In terms of skills, my volunteer work for eight years, combined with my personal experience caring for family, has honed my abilities in providing both physical and emotional support. I also have great patience, a listening ear, and a genuine heart for helping others, always with a spirit of compassion. I believe that caregiving is an ongoing learning experience, and I would love the opportunity to continue giving my time and energy to help others with kindness and respect.
