My name is Shawnie. I am 45 years old. I grew up on my parents horse farm taking care of 45 horses and other animals on our land. In 1990 I graduated from Lockport Township High School and received my diploma. Straight out of High School I was introduced to becoming a F/T nanny from a good friend of mine. I enjoyed caring for the children so much that I made it my career for 27 years. During the transition between changing families, my grandmother had gotten ill. I volunteered to come to her house everyday for 3 months to help her get around, be involved in helping her with physical therapy, keeping her company as well as helping her with personal hygiene. I enjoyed the time I spent with her as well as how rewarding it was for me to be able to help her when in need. I then decided I would love to not only find a family in need of a nanny and/or household management, but also become a Care Companion to help adults in need as well.
