I am 69 years old, married to my husband of 46 years. The two of us cared for his parents from 2011-2022 until they passed away at the ages or 94 & 95 years. They lived in our home from 2020-2022. We took care of their meals, assisted them with walks, drove them to medical appointments, and provided loving companionship on a daily basis. This sums up my experience caring for the elderly.

I work as a patient care assistant for an acupuncture clinic in Meridian. Most of our patients are elderly. I assist with helping them into their rooms and onto the bed, helping them get comfortable, and providing some of the treatment modalities we use. My favorite part of the job is getting to know them a little bit, bringing comfort and hopefully a smile, especially when life is a challenge for them.
