My name is Sue I have just moved to Ankeny, although I am an Iowan through and through.
I was sole caregiver to my Mom for 10 years. Since her passing in 2021 the accounting positions I worked for 20 years prior to taking on the role are now unfulfilling and don’t serve my preferred purpose of enhancing lives.
I am an excellent conversationalist and listener which is pertinent. I am patient and would form a great bond and friendship with your loved one.
I will help direct or redirect activities to create best outcomes.
I am not a cna or rn, my expertise is in caring for daily lifestyle and recognizing changes in health, cognitive functioning and behavioral changes.
I’m great at errands and understand that people have their own preferences and believe following them is pertinent.
I place great importance on being a bright light in this world.
I will always be responsive to authorized family members and friends that need updates or new ideas.
I believe preparing healthy food is a key component of feeling your best, although a fast food cheeseburger occasionally can be okay.
I enjoy planning activities that your senior wants to participate in or new activities they want to try.
I help create a safe environment and make sure your senior knows I am their trusted assistant striving to enhance every aspect of their lives.
The world becomes harder to navigate as we age. Sometimes a little extra care and attention as I offer is necessary.
Scheduled are crazy, there’s never enough time in the day-so help yourself and get great help that shows your senior that you will take extraordinary steps to insure their wellbeing, safety and happiness!
I am very proud to say that in my caregiving experience was the most fulfilling and purposeful time of my. I even patiently taught her new skills of operating a computer and smart phone. She had a life expectancy of 3-4 years and I was able help her live 10 years in her own home just as she wished. I’m proud of the time I cared for her. I told her when we started on this journey that this was her time to create the world she wanted as she was married most of her life and many priorities were her husband’s aspirations. I helped her become more comfortable with and inspired by her newfound independence and ability to make decisions with me so I could factor in her abilities, her safety and i bolstered her confidence and fulfillment in so many ways by encouraging and complimenting her.
