I am a 21 graduate student that recently relocated to Atlanta. During my years in Middle & Highschool I faced coming to terms with the fact that my grandmother had dementia and no longer recognized who I was. While visiting her in a living assisted facility I often saw many others go days without having a single visitor and made it a priority to speak to them every time I saw my grandmother. After working as a safety video monitor tech at a hospital I realized that it happened more often then I thought. While working in the hospital I tried to connect and bring light to each person I interacted with and hope to continue do this today.
