Dorothy’s Bio
I have been a License practical nurse since 2001 to 2013. However due to my husband medical leave I have been home caring for him since January 2014 through December 2014. During the time I cared for him I changed his dressings, assisted him to the toilet, took his vital signs, set up and reminded him to take his medications, transported him to his doctor's appointments, and all of my household duties. I also worked as an nurse through a staffing agency, Medix , as a telephonic nurse from April 27, 2014 to May 30, 2014 however because my husband was not doing very well with his therapy I had to stop working until he was fully recovered before I could return to the work place. Since that time he has returned to work full time with no restrictions and no problems. Therefore I am ready to return back to work full time. I am ready and excited to get back to caring for those in need. I worked at Lake shore Villas Health care as a LPN from April 2001 to June 2001 caring for the elderly patients. Some were independent while others were need of complete assistance. My duties were: Administering medication, finger stick, giving insulin, doing treatments, dressing change, giving injections per doctor's orders, assisting feeding those in need, and other related duties. I also worked as a LPN in a substance abuse clinic for 9 years. Where I was responsible for the care of patients that were from all walks of life, race, and ages. My duties were : administer medications, being a goo d listener, having good communication skills, observing patients for signs of distress, doing assessments, and documentation of the patient's treatment. Assist patients in and out of their wheel chair, taking vital signs, reading and giving patients TB test. I am dependable and reliable as well as a mature and responsible employee. I love to put a smile on people face and in there heart in the care that I give unto each one of them.
