I treated this woman as if she was family. Out of the blue, she quit saying she had moved to a different city (only 35 minutes from where I live, and she has a car I may add, and buses that constantly run in my area). The problem isn’t that she quit, but the fact that as a care giver she did not care about the anxiety it was going to cause my son who is autistic (knowing they are all about routine), and not having the heart to ease out the job so it wouldn’t affect my son that badly. A person like this DOES NOT love children as she claims she does. To make matters worse, after all the time she cared after my son, she quit over A VOICE NOTE, and it took her a week after she quit to return my house key and fob. I always treated her with respect and went above and beyond to make her feel like family, which makes this even worse. Children (even typical ones) need someone who will be committed and in the event the caregiver is interested in another position, she/he should do things right and in a way the child won’t suffer. I definitely do not recommend this individual. No matter how good you treat her, she’ll quit out of the blue leaving your family stranded.

I’m not a professional care-giver, but I am a mom and I know children; if it were me, I would have first of all given my employer the respect to quit face to face and the heart to give my son at least 2 whole healthy weeks to ease him into understanding she wasn’t going to be his nanny anymore. Horrible person.
