I love being a caregiver because it allows me to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives, providing support and helping individuals maintain their dignity and quality of life. My experience as a patient care technician at Hillcrest Medical Center gave me hands-on training in collecting samples, assisting with daily activities, and implementing safety protocols, such as seizure precautions. Working with individuals of diverse backgrounds, I developed strong adaptability and communication skills that are essential in caregiving roles. I’m also skilled in patient care, attention to detail, and empathy, which helps me create a safe and comforting environment for those in my care. Additionally, my time as a front desk assistant at FIU’s Housing and Residential Life enhanced my customer service and time management skills. Together, these experiences have prepared me to provide both emotional and practical support to those I care for.
