I am a friendly, outgoing, people person. I am well rounded and enjoy all sorts of activities and learning. My husband and I just moved from the Salt Lake City area where my husband was attending school. During that time, I worked as a Manager of a loan office, as an Administrative Assistant and HR Manager for a long distance learning company.  I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly.  At a very young age I developed a beautiful bond with my grandmother and as I grew I realized that she was one of my very best friends.  I was in high school when she went through breast cancer the first time and it strenghened our bond even more because I was able to spend precious time with her while she would recover from chemo therapy treatments.  In her later years she was diagnosed with cancer again I happened to be in a position where I could live with her and care for her.  We spent so many wonderful hours together, talking, reading and telling jokes, cooking, going on walks, listening to music, planting flowers and vegetables in the garden.  I took care of all the cleaning and helped with mowing the lawns and landscaping.  I would drive her to her appointments and comfort her after radiation and chemo therapy sessions.  She grew tired of fighting cancer and was ready to join her spouse of over 50 years in heaven.  She decided she was ready to graduate from this life and chose not to receive cancer treatments any further.  She passed away while we were living together, but some of my sweetest memories come from that time.  The elderly have seen so much in their lifetime and have such a wealth of knowledge and experience.  I truely love spending time with them.  My husband teases me that I was born in the wrong generation becasue of my love of the elderly.  I respect them and I seek their friendship and love learning from them.  I love to hear their stories.  Since moving to New York just a few short months ago, I have already found some dear elderly friends.  I like to go for walks with my daughter and I usually find elderly people enjoying the outdoors as well, so I like to sit down and make friends with them.  They enjoy seeing my sweet little 1 year old daughter, Paige. I met a sweet old fisherman a few weeks ago down on the East River and he and wife are just wonderful.
