Mackenzie’s Bio
From a young age, I’ve always had a natural inclination to care for others. Right after high school, I worked as a home health aide for two years, where I provided companion care to the elderly, including clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Working overnight with these clients was particularly interesting, as it required a deep level of patience, understanding, and adaptability. This experience deepened my appreciation for the older generation and sparked a passion for learning about how life has changed over the years.
What I love most about companion care is the meaningful connections I build with those I care for. I’m fascinated by the stories and experiences of the older generation, and I’m committed to making their lives more comfortable, engaging, and fulfilling. Whether it’s through simple conversations, assisting with daily activities, or just being a reliable presence, I strive to provide compassionate care that truly makes a difference.
At home, I’ve created a nurturing environment filled with diverse animals—cats, dogs, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, snakes, and even insects. Caring for these animals has taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and responsibility—qualities I bring to my role as a caregiver.
What sets me apart in companion care is my experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s clients, my genuine love for learning from others, and my ability to create a warm, supportive atmosphere. I’m passionate about ensuring that those I care for feel valued and heard, and I’m committed to providing the best possible care. If the position allows, I’d appreciate the opportunity to balance my caregiving responsibilities with my family life by occasionally bringing my son along during the hours when my husband is at work.
