Mary’s Bio
I am a 49- year-old mother of two, a 16-year-old and a six-year-old. I have been happily married for 27 years to my husband who works at a local university. I have degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice with several years of experience 15+ in social services and child care. I’ve worked with teens as a juvenile probation officer and a group home house parent and with younger children as a nursery worker, Sunday school teacher and in a mother’s morning out program. My most recent position was as a nanny for a local family in the Lakewood Ranch area with 13-year-old twins and a two-year-old. My duties included all care (including overnight as needed) for the infant, school, sports, dental and doctor appointment transportation, housekeeping, cooking, and errands both personal and business related. Unfortunately this position ended when Covid-19 forced the family to downsize their business. They are willing to provide a reference though. I am first aid and CPR certified and I do have reliable transportation. Since our funds are limited due to the loss of my employment I propose that I will pay for a background check once you offer me the position for you to receive and review before I begin. I can assure you it has always been clear. I have always enjoyed relating to the elderly and for many years went to our local nursing home on Monday mornings to sing and play piano every week. Helping care for my grandmother who lived with our family until her passing at age 84 was an honor for me as well. I hope your position is not already filled and I look forward to hearing from you with any questions.
