I am a certified elementary school teacher who has been in education for 20 years and I am currently working as a one-on-one SPED Paraprofessional during the school year and sometimes add an additional job to that.

I also have 2 years experience as a PCA & Companion. I was paid through the state working for a woman in her fifties who was in a wheelchair deep cleaning her house, running errands, helping organize things in her home, doing laundry, and more. I also worked for A&B Homecare, whose office is in Meriden, CT, filling in for PCAs/Companions who were sick, on vacation, etc. I worked with a woman in her sixties who was in a wheelchair doing light housework, getting the mail, doing laundry, helping her make a grocery list, assisting her in the shower, visiting with her, cooking light meals, running errands for her, and more. I also worked with a 101 year old lady who walked with a cane visiting with her, running errands with her, making a grocery list, doing light yard work, visiting with her, and more. The third lady I worked with was in her sixties or seventies and was in a wheelchair and I helped her organize paperwork, cook light meals, did light housework, visited with her, and more. The fourth lady I worked with was in her nineties and was in a wheelchair, and I got her mail, did laundry, did light housework, cooked light meals, visited with her, helped her get on the toilet & helped her change her pads/diaper/underwear, & more. The last lady I worked with was in her sixties or seventies and was legally blind. I helped her make phone calls, find things she needed, cooked light meals, did light housework, visited with her, told her if she was still having a bug problem, & more.
