I'm a proud mom to three adult children, and Grandma to my grandson, with one more on the way due in August! I have years of professional experience working with both typical and special needs children teaching in early childhood in Douglas, and Jefferson County public schools, Lakewood HeadStart, and private Kindergarten in an International Baccalaureate school for gifted children. In my last position I worked in service coordination of services and support for families and children identified with needs from birth to age 3. I have a unique combination of experience both personally and professionally because my middle and younger children have special needs- one developmentally delayed and the other type 1 diabetes. I love to play outside! I'm not a big TV watcher so I won't be putting your child in front of a TV or device unless you tell me to or it's part of their routines. Books books and books- read to them and play with them!! I respect your family's needs, roles and boundaries. From time to time my own kids had to be in care situations and I recall the many concerns and feelings I had surrounding that. I'm very neat, organized, structured but very flexible- were talking about kids, things change on the fly very often.
I have had CPR, first aid and universal precautions and I'm your typical Dr Mom with years of cleaning cuts and ouches. I'm looking for a part time position with some flexibility for schedule changes from time to time. I'm a very young Grandma! I love to exercise and run about 5 times a week, love to garden, and hike. I'm in 2 book clubs and run a small photography business for fun. This is a career shift, not retirement, where I can balance the things I love to do. Looking forward to meeting your family!
