I describe myself as a helper and am a lifelong caregiver. My interests as a child revolved around taking care of dolls and creating a daily schedule full of fun activities for my little brother and myself. I hold a degree in Psychology from the University of Denver with an emphasis on human development. After college, I focused on raising my own two (now teenage!) kids and I also helped care for my nephew for the first 3 years of his life. Once he began attending preschool full time I started looking for new caregiving opportunities. For the past 5 years, I have been a caregiver for people with disabilities and have found great meaning, purpose and joy helping my friends in the disability community.
