Hi, I'm Mike!

I've been involved with caregiving/working in public education supporting individuals with special needs since I got out of college in 2012. I started out working as a drop-in care support person supporting two adults in their home (grocery shopping, cooking, going on walks, and completing other errands). This evolved into my being an instruction aide and then to me getting a special education teaching credential from CSU Fullerton. I moved to Santa Cruz after getting a job as a head special education teacher. I taught for 3 years (finishing out the 2022 school year) and I pivoted into working for a well-known Ed Tech company called Clever. My contract ended in October 2022 and I am now looking for part-time work as I explore new options.
