Linnea’s Bio
I am an extremely empathetic person and have spent my life being a people pleaser and respectful of all life around me. As a child I would go with my grandmother to visit my great-grandmother at the convalescent home. It was always an exciting day for me because I was so drawn to the elderly people that I was visiting and for some reason they were very drawn to me. While my grandma would be visiting with my great-grandmother I was busy brushing everyone's hair, putting lotion on their arms and listening to their stories. They had such amazing stories to tell and things to teach me. I spent my entire career working in human resources, and being a very empathetic person that career served me well for 22 years. As I get older I have been aged out of Silicon Valley and I realized after a six year battle trying to get into a millennial workforce it's time for me to shift my focus, take all of my skills and empathy, and put them into a career with less hustle and bustle and More Love. I was a care companion for both of my grandmothers. I also have spent my entire life surrounded by doctors, cardiologists to be more specific and learned a lot from them in terms of having bedside manner and when you think you have enough empathy, you need to have more. My father too was in my care for a while, but, against my wishes he decided to move home to New Mexico, he's a very stubborn man. While there he fell and broke his hip, and now I'm in the process of trying to move him back here so I can take care of him again. Everything in life goes full cycle, he took care of me, and as I work with his medical insurance and the hospital he is in now, he'll be home in my care soon. I love listening to stories that the elderly have to share. In addition to taking care of elderly I have helped take care of special needs children my whole life. Again having a mother that worked in pediatrics my entire life I was drawn to that field of being a care provider. In high school I worked at the YMCA during their summer camps and always had the special needs children in my groups. I was in a relationship for 8 years with a man who has a son who is now 28 but a very low functioning down syndrome and he didn't talk for anyone else but me. I miss him very much and thoroughly enjoyed my time taken care of him. I am also very good with children and babies as I have three of my own.
