My favorite part about being around the elderly is hearing their lives stories, and I thank God I got to hear all about my grandpa's life before he passed last year.
The experience I have is with my grandfather. That last year of his life I helped him with "being his personal assistant" as he called it. Making calls, sending "faxes" (text messages), helping him with medication, assisting him in basic tasks such as getting up to use the restroom or go for walks, reading him his favorite psalms and "sneaking" him ice cream. (Don't worry, he was allowed to have it.😉)
The elderly are people, though sometimes they aren't treated as such. These people are one of my favorite kinds of people. They have done such a service to us in their time and I would personally love to do them a service back. They deserve respect, kindness, dignity, and love.
