Elena’s Bio
I worked as a care-giver on and off for couple of years, but my main source of experience comes from working in Physical Therapy. As a trainer, I have worked with different types of patients, specializing with elderly and/ or handicapped. I would like to use my knowledge of exercise science and my vast experience at being a trainer to not only give day to day care, but also assist and coach clients in an exercise program to either recover from injury and/ or improve quality of life.
I have worked in physical therapy for over six years and have studied kinesiology at California State Fullerton.
Some of my experiences include working for ResCare: caring for an individual with cerebral palsy – teaching some coordination movement routines through yoga and recreational volleyball. Also, as a care-giver, assisting clients with home physical therapy exercises, as well as assisting with their daily activities like cleaning, cooking and just being there!
In Physical Therapy for elderly, I have worked in “Leusure World” therapy clinic as a trainer, teaching patients proper movement with daily activities and leading exercise classes.
About me:
I am fun, energetic and extremely caring! I have been an athlete my whole life, volleyball was my main event. I wanted to become a professional beach volleyball player as my whole life revolved around the sport. This dream and ambition was cut short when I got injured. After looking into many alternative ways to exercise, I found yoga.
I have been practicing yoga for about five years and teaching it for almost two. For me, yoga became a tool to learn about my body and a tool I can use to heal my mind.
