I am from the Island of Tonga in the Pacific.
Back home we take care of our elders and so helping out my Mom taking care of my grandparents. Caregiving is therefore a second nature to me. I am currently helping out with caring for my mother, and have experience and references from others I have cared for for the last 30 years.
Most of my clients I would start from being a companion to hospice care. I have worked with cancer patients, high blood and diabetic patients, COPD and dialysis clients, clients with multiple sclerosis.
I manage the household duties, remind and dispense of medications, cook and clean up, do laundry, do exercises with clients who need to exercise. I also care for the comfort and safety of my clients. A great team member working and sharing with family members the latest developments and updates on clients.
I also take clients to Dr appointments or other places they need to be at whether with friends or families. I do shopping and other errands when required to.
