Sheylyn’s Bio

Hello,

My name is Sheylyn and I am based in Beverly Hills, CA.
I have an MHSA from the University of Michigan School of Pubic Health. I am currently on hiatus from 10+ years of Corporate Healthcare work. During graduate school I worked for a home health care/hospice/catastrophic care agency. During that time I learned so much about caregiver solutions and community based resources in addition to business functions.
My background gave me the ability to be a caretaker for my father when he fell ill and needed home care and hospice needs before passing. I had a year of experience with health inclines/declines. I also had to manage his diabetes.
I am very aware/empathetic/well-versed to ADLs (activity of daily living needs) based on individual care plans. I have been certified in CPR (currently would need to recert) and I am fully vaccinated.
The most important items:
- Am I fit for your loved one? I would want to know things such as:
* Current state of conditions (mind, chronic conditions, co-morbities, personality, likes/dislikes, general interests, weight bearing/restrictions/wheelchair/shower chair/body weight ( I need to be able to support/transfer safely)
*Experience with bedridden (must move patient every hour+ to one side or another to avoid pressure ulcers. Person must be at 40 degree+ angle to eat based on diet/respiratory restrictions.)
*I would need to be provided gloves/masks. I also keep nails short and clean and hair tied back. I would wear scrubs if requested but otherwise comfortable in leggings/t-shirt that would not be worn outside of the home for activities.
I personally understand that being a full time caretaker means you need respite and to have someone you trust and like to care for your loved one.
My father was only 65 when he passed, so we were pretty active early on with walks, wheelchair outside, conversations, etc. he also enjoyed when I would cook or we could go out to eat. ( I own a newer SUV that is capable of carrying wheelchair).
I am available for all of the spectrum.
I recently had a family member have a traumatic incident and personally describe to me how showers are only comfortable if the room is warm enough. No one took concern for her comfort level of a basic need. These are all the kind of things I want to know before you consider me.
