Hi, Savannah here ! I absolutely love interacting with the older generation ! I can sit and listen to the old time stories all day ! I come from a memory care and assisted living background with more of a focus on those with dementia / Alzheimer’s. I worked primarily in the lifestyle department; implementing activities, encouraging social engagement, finding fun ways to keep them hydrated, making eating fun, talking and listening, and encouraging physical activity. I was trained in a Montessori approach to senior care; meaning I encouraged the residents to help me make smoothies or help me fold towels to give them a sense of purpose. I loved my time there ! Hospice also holds a special place in my heart as I volunteered with THEMA hospice. Being a companion to those who have no family while they pass is a beautiful experience. This passion has led me to pursue hospice nursing. Accompanied by my phlebotomy license I also have 45 nursing credits under my belt. I have however, taken a step back from school to work.
