Elizabeth’s Bio
I became a CNA in 2009 and began working in a nursing home caring for the elderly and disabled. After that, I found that I really loved being a personal caregiver on private duty. I sat with 2 different couples over the course of a year and a half before I moved away. Working private duty gives the opportunity to become closer to the people you are working with, and they develop more trust with you. When we moved to Baldwin County, my CNA certification was about to expire and I did not want to go back to working in a nursing home. I started my own cleaning business and continued doing that for 7 years. But I still always wanted to get back into medical and caregiving. I signed up for medical assisting classes at Fortis College and gained my certificate. With my experience, I am able to care for wounds, I am CPR certified, I am knowledgeable on medications, and have many other skills. To go along with this, I have transportation and can drive your loved one to doctor visits, or even to the grocery store.
