At-home care for my grandmother on weekdays
Posted by Jonathan V. on 2/19/2025

- $12.00 per hour

My grandmother is 93 years old and struggling with mobility after breaking her femur and hip. She can walk short distances, but uses her wheelchair beyond that. She has a urostomy bag (no bladder, so her urine drains into a bag), and though she knows how to maintain and use it, aid may be needed on occasion. She will need to do exercises 3/day (they are easy, take about 5 minutes. She needs someone to take her to medical appointments sometimes and do minor chores around the house, as well as cooking. She mostly entertains herself by watching the Hometown show and playing on her iPad. Having a caretaker who is personable and enjoys conversation would be great for her, she is very coherent and loves to be busy when she can. She has family members close by that work, so in an emergency, help will be nearby. Schedule is 8 AM - 5 PM, and my aunt visits her for lunch, so the hour of 1-2 PM can be taken off for personal lunch.
