My mom, who is 68 and is fully cognizant and able to care for herself is going to be going on Dialysis 2 to 3 times a week but lives an hour and half away from me. She drives and has her own life, but she is still nervous about getting to the center about 10-15 mins away and having someone there to advocate for her. She is a friendly, caring person who is very social but she definitely aged from the kidney issues and just needs someone there to help. She walks on her own but I get nervous about her walking unaided perhaps a little woozy after the treatments to and from a car. I work FT and have 3 children so can come but won't able to do it all week. Looking for someone that can essentially be me - the daughter - and be there for companionship but would not involve physical care. Could involve helping her make sure, for instance she her grocery deliveries etc when she is home.
