We need someone to help keep our mother company in the afternoon/evening hours and help with normal daily activities such as cooking a meal, eating, medication management, personal care with respect to ensuring she is using all bathing items (soap, shampoo, etc.) when showing, wiping herself when she uses the rest room, light household chores. We will need someone that speaks Spanish as this is her primary language. We would also like someone that can engage with her to perform seated exercises with or without weights to increase strength, walks outside (weather permitting), movement & activity are key as well as performing activities such as arts/crafts, puzzles, something/anything to engage her in an activity that is not solely watching TV. She is showing signs of mental decline. We also need someone to ensure she is drinking sufficient water daily. She currently attends a senior program from 9-1 daily with the exception of field trip days. The schedule would be from Monday thru Friday from 2-7 or even 8pm with some weekends. Transportation would be helpful to have someone take her to get her hair cut, light groceries or even just to take her out occasionally either for dinner or a late lunch as she does not regularly eat at the program she attends. Having someone that can cook a variety of meals for her while letting her participate in the cooking process in her apartment would be a nice way to get her up & moving as well. Getting her on a regular eating schedule & drinking more water, while reducing the amount of coffee she is consuming, is helpful. We are looking for someone that can be her friend while also being stern when needed. She tends to be angry & frustrated most days. She doesn't have any hobbies or interests which makes the process a little more difficult. We are in desperate need of someone that can help us. Appreciate any help or insight you can provide.
