My grandparents (in their 80s) are still independent but need assistance with transportation (getting to/from appointments and the store), companionship (mostly for my grandmother), and occasional household help (struggles with things like reaching things / working the TV, etc). Mostly just someone around to help as needed. Time is flexible aside from appointments which are not super frequent. Both are receptive to help, friendly, and very likely to try to give you baked goods / Little Debbie’s / coffee. Car provided for transportation.
