Part-time home care assistance for adult, post-shoulder surgery recovery
Posted by Liz L. on 11/26/2024
- $20.00 per hour
My independent-living 82 YO mother is 2 weeks into her surgical recovery from having her left shoulder joint replaced. She is reasonably mobile but she has strict orders not to use her arm, which makes it very difficult to dress and replace her sling.
I am looking for someone to help at her home at the Park Danforth residence in Portland for up to an hour in the mornings and/or evenings a few time per week until the end of December. Depending on the progress of her recovery, this may extend into January.
In addition to dressing, a few other light tasks may include helping to pull up pants post-toilet, grooming, overseeing a couple of medications, and very light meal prep.
The residence is designed for the elderly and has emergency call systems integrated into apartments. First Aid experience is not necessary but can't hurt.
Care Recipient
- Female
- Very receptive to outside help
- Age range: 75 to 84 years old
