I live in Atlanta and my 82 year old father lives in Savannah and asks me for computer help every week. I do what I can over facetime, but he needs in-person help. This year he's needed help with things like how to hotspot his phone/computer when wifi went out after the hurricane, how to back up his computer files, how to login to new websites, how to use zoom, etc.
Most important quality is that you are patient! He is in good physical and mental health, but can't keep up with technology.
Ideally you could visit his house (midtown Savannah) once or twice a week for a few hours to answer his computer questions.
