We are visiting from Australia for the 2024/25 university school term. My daughter Viv is a gregarious 8 year-old attending a local primary school. She does not have a lot of experiences with babysitters, but loves interactive activities with teenagers and adults playing games, watching movies, reading books, cooking and drawing. We are living in an old church with a big kitchen and living area. Our hosts are sometimes here, but often are in the upper living areas.
I will have some evening events that I will need care for Viv. The times will generally be between 4:30 and 9:30pm, which will require preparing dinner (I might make ahead of time), winding down activities and then bedtime by 8'ish. I would also be interested a sitter who could meet Viv at the school bus stop at 2:45pm and bring her home (across the street) or in some instances may be able to pick Viv up from her after-school program occassionally (Thursdays or Fridays by 5:15pm).
We are located close to downtown. Her school is 1.7 miles away from our residence.
