Child Care Workers are responsible for the well-being of the children under their care. They must
monitor the children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and
appropriate manner. Some of their typical duties include:
• Setting up and breaking down/cleaning room at the beginning and ending of day.
• Being prepared to greet (parent and child), sign in, and inform parents of daily
activity/story/art
• Cleaning interactive areas and toys
• Preparing snacks for the kids
• Organizing activities – ensuring age appropriate activity for ages 6mon-3yrs
• Ensuring the children have good hygiene and changing diapers as necessary
• Keeping records of each child’s stay, diaper changes, feedings/snacks and any problems
that may occur
• Maintaining check-in/out procedure and contact information with the children’s parents in
case of an emergency
Child Care Workers would provide care for the children of church members and visitors on
Sunday’s during the normal church hours (with occasional exceptions) 8:30a-12:30p. They work
with other Child Care personnel (or volunteer) to ensure that children are engaged, receive proper
attention and supervision while maintaining a safe, nurturing, friendly environment. Their job is to
lead crafts and activities, oversee outdoor time, perform first aid for cuts and scrapes and
communicate with parents/guardians at drop off/pick-up. They may also change diapers and feed
children between the ages of 0 to 3.
