Occasional Sitter for an affectionate Autistic Child with 2 younger siblings
Posted by Joanna H. on 11/26/2024
- 3 children (Preschool, Elementary)
- $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
We are a family of 4. I am a disabled single mother. My oldest is 8 and autistic. My other 2 children are 6 and 4. I homeschool and will be working from home. My children prefer to spend time outdoors and appreciate learning new things. They are also expected to clean up after themselves and complete their chores after meals. They are all quite independent and well behaved when structure and consistent rules/consequences are provided.
I'm looking for someone who can sit with the children occasionally when I need to go to doctor appointments or need to focus more on my workload. Also will need someone I can trust to provide Respite when it's available. At the moment, I'm not looking for someone to do any more than that, but may be looking to hire for more services when income/workload increases, such as assistance with homeschooling/light cleaning. Right now I just need someone who will show up on time and be present to supervise while I take care of things I need to take care of, making sure the children continue to follow the house rules. Easy job for someone stern and consistent.
It would be ideal if someone were available for a few hours on set days during the week; then, I could schedule my appointments based on their guaranteed availability. The sitter will need to come to our home during those times. Once trust is established, outings may be discussed if the sitter prefers, but it will not be a requirement for the job. This will be during the day, just for a couple hours once or twice a week for now. You are welcome to bring any well behaved, non destructive children with you that are within a similar age range. My children love having new friends to play with.
Requirements
- Multiples experience
- Special needs experience
