We are a family of 4 with 2 cats. The girls are 9 and (almost) 7. Occasionally my husband and I have schedule conflicts with our jobs and need help getting the girls on or off the bus and sometimes need someone to stay with them after school until one of us gets home.
Depending on the day, the sitter may need to help get the girls get ready for school and get on the bus early in the morning or help them get off the bus in the afternoon and help them settle in, have a snack, do their homework and hang out until a parent gets home. They may also need to prepare dinner or serve takeout depending on what time parents will be home (usually no later than 7:30).
We are in Yorktown Heights. The morning bus routine requires the 9 year old to be on the bus by 8am. The 7 year old gets on the bus at 8:30am. In the afternoon, the 9 year old gets off the bus at 3pm and the 7 year old gets off at 3:30pm. I am usually home by 7-7:30.
