Looking to hire a personal care assistant for my 11 year old son with special needs. Must be reliable and dependable. Special needs experience is not required as long as you are comfortable, patient, and understanding.
My son is a happy, silly boy who enjoys animals, Sponge Bob, and being outside. He exhibits heightened anxiety/hyperarousal, impulsivity, language delays, and cognitive delays.
Duties:
-engaging in communication and activities to support social and language development
-supporting physical and behavioral needs
-picking up at school (or getting off bus)
-maintaining a calm environment to support anxiety
-assisting with afternoon arrival home/meal prep
Ideally, we'd like someone to pick him up at 3:15 but if 4:00 is better, you could get him off the bus. We should be home by 6:00.
*We receive funding through a waiver so as a PCA, you do need to fill out an application, submit documentation, and file taxes. Pay is every 2 wks via direct deposit. There is also a quick online training. You will clock in/out on an app and write brief notes at the end. It sounds like a lot but it truly is not!
