I am an experienced childcare provider, educator, and artist looking for part-time or occasional babysitting work. I just moved to Milwaukee from Minneapolis where, most recently, I worked as a teacher at a wonderful, mixed-age Waldorf preschool called Larksong. I was a lead, solo teacher to up to 7 children ages 2-6, in charge of implementing creative crafts and activities; establishing a daily rhythm; ensuring everyone's safety; and engaging the children in imaginative, outdoor play. Before Larksong, I worked as a k-12 reserve teacher in the St. Paul Public School District, establishing trust with a new group of students in a different classroom every day. In 2018, I was a babysitter with Pinch Sitters, a reputable babysitting service in New York City that requires at least 3 years of recent childcare experience and references of its employees. I graduated from Bard College in 2020 with a degree in creative writing and professional tutoring experience (math and writing). Activities I enjoy and encourage include playing outdoors, crafts, and imaginative games. I also just love connecting––over books, music, movies, fantasy lore, animal obsessions, DIY fashion, dreams, etc! I love to encourage children in their passions. I seek to establish trust with your child(ren) through active listening and affirmation, and I would only use my phone for emergencies and to communicate with you about how things are going.
