I started working in child care when I was 16 and have been doing so ever since. In high school I worked at St. John’s Lutheran daycare and then at the Jewish Community Center. Most recently I worked at Milestones Programs for Children. I’ve worked with children 2 months to 4 years old. I was there for about four years mostly working in the 2 to 12 month and 12 to 24 month classroom and gained a lot of experience. While working there I had many responsibilities including bottle feeding, diaper changing, meal/snack prep, outdoor and indoor play, story time, nap routine, and activity planning. I find it so exciting to help infants reach their milestones such as tummy time, rolling over, sitting up, and walking. I enjoy being able to get creative with activities so that children can experience new and exciting things. I love planning age appropriate sensory Read more activities, music, art projects, and story boards. While working there I received CPR certifications and completed early childhood courses in college. I’m a junior in college at UW Milwaukee majoring in psychology and minoring in art. While working at Milestones Programs for Children, I met a family that I began to babysit for. I took care of all 3 of their children since they were only a few months old. When they moved to a different area I decided to start nannying for them. While nannying I did drop off, pick up, after school programs, meals, naps, bedtime, and household chores. I truly believe that one of the most important puzzle pieces of nannying is creating strong trust with the family so that you know your child’s health, safety, and enjoyment of safe experiences will always be my top priority.
