I grew up in a big family and have always loved being around kids. I have over 25 years experience working with children, 15 of those years being in a professional atmosphere. I've worked with children 6 weeks old to young adult age 22. Throughout the years I've had certifications in CPR and child development, along with training courses in early education and special needs. I have knowledge in American Sign Language and enjoy teaching it to my own children. I have a para-professional certificate with the Illinois State Board of Education. I worked in special education for 8 years, until I had my second child and became a stay at home mom. My family and I enjoy outside activities, music, reading, art projects, computer and board games, and playing with our family dog. I believe that children learn best through exploring and play and I take advantage of every Read more teachable moment while also encouraging language skills and self-help skills. I really enjoy watching children discover something new and helping to guide them to new accomplishments. I understand the importance of having your children in a loving and safe environment.
