All in all, I would love to be a babysitter for your family. I am reliable, responsible, very approachable, a great listener, have medical emergency knowledge and experience, great with kids and animals of all ages, very playful, very respectful of house rules and routines, and I am fully vaccinated. I have many years of experience working with kids in all different environments. I've been a nanny, I've done quite a bit of date-night sitting for parents in need of a relaxing evening, and I've also been a coach to kids in grades 3-8. I took a lot of pride in being a nanny. I loved growing a relationship with the child I watched on a daily basis and being someone they could count on to be there with open arms. My duties included picking the child up from school, taking them home, prepare and feed them a snack, making Read more sure their homework was complete and helping if there were any questions, and then making the best of the rest of their day until Mom came home! That could include a certain amount on TV/video game time, board/card games, playing house, or playing with action figures/dolls. The only reason I stopped was because of location. Babysitting has always been my favorite pass-time. I love being the fun and exciting person coming in to make sure the kids have a great time while the parents are away. I love finding new ways to make the night entertaining, making sure we are doing the kids favorite things. I do also understand how important routines are when they are a younger age, and that things like dinner, bath time, brushing teeth, reading stories, and getting to bed in a timely manner, can be crucial to keeping things running smoothly at home. Coaching was something I did from high school up into my adult years. Each year getting a new set of kids was challenging, but very rewarding at the end of the season. Learning how to make sure these kids had a sense of discipline while also making sure they were having a great, fun time and feeling like they had another family was my goal. It helped me really learn that you can still be someone that a child trusts and looks forward to seeing while being someone who has to enforce rules and sometimes restrict what they're allowed to do. It also taught me how to discipline children in a way that they will receive, and that every child is different. If you any questions or concerns, please reach out. I'd love to chat (and/or video chat) and see if I am a good fit for your family!
