I am fun and responsible, and have over a decade of paid childcare experience, plus 8.5 years of parenting my own children. I love taking kids on outings (parks, beaches, museums) and tend to follow their lead while keeping them safe. I have extensive experience with special needs children. My younger brother is developmentally disabled (physical and mental differences and delays) and I provided much of his care through my teen years. I spent 4 years as a Medical Assistant at the University of WA Medical Center, and 6 years as an in-home caregiver (5 with full-time wheelchair users). The last family I babysat for (regular date nights for ~3 years) had an autistic child who was just the best! I'm comfortable learning medical things such as tube feedings, and am well versed in food allergies/intolerances including anaphylaxis and how to avoid cross contamination (or bringing any molecules of the Read more allergen into your home!). I have a clean driving record and a safe and reliable vehicle, and a 12 month old tiny sidekick who loves hanging with other kids (and is easy to pop onto my back if she gets fussy).

Susanna is amazing! She babysat for my 2 children (staring at ages 1 and 3) for several years. They loved Susanna. She is warm and caring. She engaged with both children and made sure they had an amazing experience. At the same time, she really listened to what I needed from her and made sure the kids were fed and in bed with everything cleaned up before we got home. Sometimes she would cook with the kids so there were even fresh baked treats to great us :-) My oldest is autistic and I was very nervous to leave him but Susanna was fantastic. She has experience with kids with special needs (including autism) and was amazing with my son. At the same time, when my son needed more attention, she made sure my daughter was included. The kids starting asking when we were going out again so Susanna could come over. After her daughter was born, Susanna brought her along (with our permission, of course) and my kids loved it. Her level of attention and care for my children did not diminish one bit. We are so fortunate to have had Susanna in our lives. Any parent would be lucky to have someone so caring and responsible watching their children. I wish I could rank her higher than 5 stars!
