I've been at least assisting with caring for children since I was a little girl. My mother used to nanny octuplets when I was about 6-8 which is where I first learned about taking care of infants. In my younger years, I assisted in the Sunday school classes offered at the various churches I attended growing up. In my early teens, I did a lot of babysitting for friends of the family. As an adult, I've been involved with after school tutoring and ESOL instruction. I love working with and playing with children. More than just making sure they're breathing, I strive to be the kind of sitter that engages and stimulates children's imaginations and well as giving them opportunities to learn. That could be practicing a different language (I know some Chinese, American Sign Language, Spanish, and am conversational in Japanese) or practicing a skill such as dance, art, Read more or cooking.
