Hello, my name is Katie! From a young age, I was very involved in working with children. Teaching runs in my family, so I had a lot of exposure to education, as well as many opportunities that helped me grow as an educator. Growing up, I volunteered at many sports & church camps with youth, as a teen I babysat multiple times per week, and in high school I had the privilege of accepting an internship in a kindergarten classroom. As I grew older nannying and working at a preschool were my summer jobs. Once I graduated high school I attended Western Washington University for 2 years with an intent to continue my knowledge and experience in ECE. I ended up taking a pause from school to assess my life goals and figure out my passion. After some soul searching I ended up back teaching and realized there's no other Read more job that brings me more joy than working with kids. Working with children is the most rewarding job I’ve ever had and it helps me to continuously grow and learn as a person as well. For the last 3 years I have been happily working as a lead teacher at a play and nature-based preschool in downtown Bellevue. I am CPR and first aid certified as well as fully vaccinated (Covid and other vaccines up to date). I am currently working towards going back to school to complete my degree in Early Childhood Education.
