Hello! My name is Rumana, and I'm an undergraduate pre-medical student at UW Seattle. I am located in Seattle and can conveniently get to anywhere close by, such as Capitol Hill, but also have a car and can travel farther (Bothell, Redmond, etc.) if needed. I love kids and hope to become a pediatrician one day! To me, working with children is incredibly fun and exciting—I love to engage their curiosity and sense of play as a babysitter and help them learn how to be respectful and kind as peers at the same time. I have experience working with kids of all ages, particularly between infants to around 11 years old. When babysitting, I typically help kids read books, play lots of games, as well as do arts and crafts in order to stimulate their imagination and creativity. I am happy to help with homework, light housekeeping, and any other responsibilities you might need me to do. I have 4 years of experience doing paid babysitting, and spent 2 years working for a family with three talkative and active kids aged 1, 3, and 5. I also babysat for many different families independently for an additional 2 years, and am super adaptable to a variety of kids! In terms of availability, I am typically available in the evenings on weekdays and all day on weekends, but I can be flexible if needed. I’ve been around newborns consistently throughout my life making me comfortable and confident with newborns, infants, toddlers and older kiddos. My boys played soccer since they were 3 years old, t-ball, baseball, basketball, track & field and football. I was a really active parent. I was Vice President of the PTA, VP of Membership, Chairperson of Family Fun nights and an Art Docent for their classrooms for two years. I also participated in booster clubs to raise money for the sports. I enjoy walking, bike riding, easy/moderate hiking (nothing too crazy!). I belong to the YMCA where I take Zumba, cycling, a weight class, yoga, pilates and cardio/weights. I just recently bought a guitar and I plan on taking lessons. I am very close to my 3 sons so I enjoy doing various things with them. In addition, I have a 13 year old dog, who thinks he's a puppy!
