Hi, I'm Amber! I have 3+ years of paid childcare experience, but I've been babysitting/working with kids for most of my life. In middle school, I received a babysitting certification for first aid and CPR through the Red Cross. In highschool, I was a teacher's assistant for K-2nd grade and 4th-6th grade classes at my homeschool co-op. I've also helped with after school activities at my local elementary schools during my school years, as well as after I graduated. I've been the "go-to" for my friends and family with young kids for 10+ years now! In 2017, I watched 3 children aged 2, 3, and 7 on a part-time basis while attending college. I cared for the 2 youngest children while the oldest was at school. I also did laundry, dishes, and other moderate house chores during my down time. Occasionally, I was asked to come over on the weekends Read more solely to help the family catch up on chores. From 2018-2019, I worked full-time for a family who was in the process of moving to UT. Their son was 9 months old when I first began working for them. The mother worked from home, so I cared for the baby in a separate part of the house for most of the day. I maintained his feeding, sleeping, and playing schedule until they finalized their move. I also housesat when they traveled to look at houses. A year after they moved, they came back to WA for a short time; I babysat for them on an occasional basis until they moved to CO in 2021. From 2019-2020, I worked for a family with 3 children - 3, 5, and 16. The youngest had a speech disability, so I learned how to teach her some sign language to help with everyday communication and potty training. I was very active with the kids; we went to the park, the zoo, the mall, etc. When the weather wasn't great, we stay at the house watching movies and playing with train tracks (their favorite toys). I prepared breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner as well, vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen, and organized the playroom. I was also their dog sitter for their yearly family vacations. When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was unfortunately let go from my job. This was very tough because I felt like I was part of the family! I ended up working a remote corporate job up until recently. I decided to go back to school and finish my degree, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to nanny again! I love working with kids and I've definitely missed it these last couple of years :)
