Hello! My name is Devon. I grew up in Richmond and live in Chesterfield with my 8 year old daughter. I have always had a special connection and love for children. I am an experienced child care provider, having more than 16 years of experience. I started babysitting at the age of 15. I was a preschool teacher working with 2 year olds and Pre K age group in my late 20s. I decided to become a nanny for a more one on one experience. I have been nannying for over 10 years now and have cared for children ages ranging from newborn to 12 year olds. I have cared for 3 families who has a child has autism. I have learned a lot about autism and how to care for a child with developmental delays and delayed speech . Patience is a big attribute that I have. I am Read more pursuing a degree in early childhood development. Caring for and teaching children are my passion. I am a professional, fun, responsible, reliable care giver and take pride in what I do.( it's not just a job for me, I truly love my career). I have the natural ability to connect with children and families that I nanny for. I currently am nannying for a 2 year old and have been with him since he was 5 month old. The mom has decided to stay home from work with their new one expected in a month. I have a lot of infant experience . Communication with parents is very important and is key when caring for their child/children. I love the outdoors and any type of physical activites. I am not a big fan of children being stuck in front of the tv all day or spending hours on their iPods and iPads on social media sites and playing video games. Technology is so advanced these days and I feel kids need to "be kids" and not turn to electronic devices every free moment. Taking walks, riding bikes, tag, playing hide and seek, going to parks and museums are just a few of the fun things I like to do with children. Parents need to feel at ease knowing that their child/ren are in good hands and are safe when they are at work. I will make that happen!:) I am CPR and first aide certified, and have a clean background and driving record as well as many references and letters of recommendation.
