Hello! I am currently a Special Education Teaching Assistant for ACPS looking for another job, especially for the summer/when school is out. I am a certified medication aide, certified in first aid & CPR, and CPI certified. I mostly have experience with younger elementary aged special education students with autism, but also have experience with older elementary aged special education students with autism and other disabilities. I am very open to learning. If there is something I don't know about a disability (or in general), I ask questions when appropriate and research on my own time. To me, behavior is a type of communication, so being patient and taking the time to get to know each student and the way they communicate (even if they can't yet verbally communicate) has led me to be successful at my job.
