Hi parents, I’m Charmaine and a mom of 2 amazing children under 2 years old. I live in the Short Pump area but willing to travel, I have open availability and willing to do full-time, part-time or occasional nannying. I also offer parenting classes for first-time parents or parents looking for help with understanding the uniqueness of their children, understanding different ways of positive disciplining, finding age appropriate activities, learning about the right time for milk and solids transitioning, bathing, breastfeeding, toilet training, and creating a perfect schedule for your family and so much more (:! I have cared for children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. I have almost 10 years of experience. From the ages 13-18 my mom trained me as her assistant in her in home licensed daycare where I learned everything that I could know. I have always loved and cared for children Read more since I could remember. So at the age of 18 I started my journey at Skipwith Academy as an infant assistant, then working my way to Primrose as an toddler assistant and I just wanted to know more, after doing research on different learning styles for children the Montessori method is one that stood out to me because it celebrates the uniqueness and differences of each child while also giving children the respect and options that they deserve teaching them to become great people in the world. After having my son I felt that it was the perfect time to start my Montessori journey which brought me to Central Montessori School as an infant/Toddler Assistant and making my way up to a pre-primary assistant and I loved every bit of it! While on maternity leave with my daughter I did a lot of part-time nannying and babysitting until I was fully ready to go back to work and that’s when I got an amazing job off from Richmond Public School to become an Headstart Teacher which blew my mind with excitement! I have learned so much about children and the uniqueness of each and every one. I am CPR Certified, I completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff, Early Head Start/ Head Start Preservice training and FLIP IT training(Help children learn about their feelings and teaches the best way to guide children through different emotions). I am currently enrolled at North American Montessori Center to receive my Montessori diploma.
