Hi! I'm Audrey! I just moved to the area and am looking for work. My childcare journey started at age 13 babysitting for numerous families in my neighborhood. In 2021, I began working as a camp counselor and found I had a knack for connecting with the kids who needed a little extra care than their peers. In 2023, I took a step up and worked at a camp specifically for dually exceptional children and gained a lot of experience working with individuals with ADHD, Autism, ODD, and more. I am a very creative person and love to come up with games and activities to meet children where they are instead of rushing them into things. I've received feedback from camper parents that I make their children feel included, help introduce emotional regulation tools, and make them feel safe while still having a blast, even in new situations. I am Read more aware bringing a new person in can be stressful for a child, especially neurodivergent children, and hope to work with families to make that transition as smooth as possible. I just graduated from Christopher Newport University with a BA in Theatre and also have experience working with children in productions.
