As the oldest sister of two young boys, I found myself being a mom, a friend, a teacher, and a counselor. Throughout the years of watching them grow, they have taught me so much about how to better communicate with kids, understanding one another’s emotions/ how to work through them, creativity, and most importantly, patience. One of the biggest skills I have developed from my experience with kids is patience. I believe it is important to understand that this is their first time experiencing the world so it requires patience and understanding on our part for them to grow. I’m big on not only direct learning but also creative learning. I’ve worked with children in classroom settings in the past which has given me a good idea of learning strategies they respond to best. Finding new ways to make learning fun for kids is one of my favorite things because Read more as a college student, I find myself needing a reminder that education can still be entertaining. To kids everything is so new and exciting and it’s a blast to be a part of that journey. My main goal is to be able to help children, especially young ones, to learn new and valuable skills that can later help them in life. From the basic things such as knocking homework out so you don’t worry about it later to, developing different ways to express themselves and building positive habits.
