My younger brother has severe autism and is nonverbal. Growing up my siblings and I would all take turns taking care of him and while it was a difficult job I always loved the time spent babysitting. When I started in the work force I always felt unsatisfied with customer service jobs and wanted a job where I felt like I made a difference. I think childcare is one of the best examples of making an impact with your job. I love working with kids of all ages and seeing them grow and develop. It’s definitely not always an easy job but it’s worth it. One of my favorite jobs that I ever had was a swim instructor for children. I taught ages 6 months to 12 years old and it was such a valuable experience. Beyond just seeing the pride in their eyes when they passed off a new Read more skill, I loved seeing them develop a desire to push themselves and truly enjoy every minute of our lessons.
