Hello, Dear Family! My name is Myh and I would absolutely love to become your family’s trusted babysitter! I am 21 years old and grew up in Texas, US in a family of five. I am Ethiopian/Eritrean, and I hold my culture very dear to my heart, especially the food! My child care experience includes au pairing in France for the past year with 3 preschool and elementary-aged boys. I carry a passion for engaging children in meaningful activities, such as playing games outdoors, creating art, creating plays/talent shows/performances. I am an incredibly creative and open-minded person, and find that these qualities allow me to connect with children in a very special way! Before becoming an au pair, I had experience working with children with autism working for almost a year in an ABA clinic as a Behavioral Therapist and Office Administrator. I’ve especially loved working directly with the kids Read more as a Behavioral Technician because they always have so much energy and personality! It was very fulfilling to also see their progress in therapy, especially when they started talking or doing something they couldn’t do before. If your kids have special needs, then we would be a great fit! My approach with children has always been to empower them. In many situations, I tend to create opportunities in which a child can express themself and learn from a mistake. I truly prioritize speaking to the child so they can be better aware of the situation. I also recognize how important the parents’ philosophy on discipline is, and would discuss this with you and honor your wishes on how to work with your child! Another important thing about me is that I love to create! In my spare time I write and read (fiction and nonfiction), create music, edit and film videos, and cook! My career goal is to become a writer of some sort– whether it be novels or journalistic articles or screenplays, I just want to be able to tell a story! I’ve written short stories since I was in middle school, and was a staff member of my school newspaper during my last two years of high school. My love for storytelling runs deep, and fuels my purpose to connect with and inspire other people. I also love to travel and learn new languages! (Hence, my year long trip to France ;)! I have visited 5 new countries in the past year!! I also took French-language classes while living in France and have achieved a near-fluent level. In school, I took 5 years of Spanish and found it to be my most engaging class. I also speak Amharic (my mother tongue). I would love to share my language knowledge with you and your children, if that interests you! I look forward to talking to you and hopefully getting to work with your lovely children!
